Steps in opening ATM savings account in Metrobank
- Go to the nearest or your preferred Metrobank branch and advise that you want to open an ATM account with them.
- Fill up the form. Make sure you double check all the information before submitting it together with the initial deposit amount of Php 2,000.
- The officer in charge will then encode all the information to their system and will print a receipt or say a deposit slip for the transaction. That’s basically it! Asked them when you can claim your ATM card. Mostly it’s within 1 week.
*Please note that you need to present your deposit slip and a valid ID when claiming your ATM card. Make sure you have it.
Requirements of Passbook savings account in Metrobank
- 2 valid IDs
- 2 pcs. of 1×1 or 2×2 photo
- Php10,000 initial deposit
- TIN number
*Some Metrobanks branches needs or requesting to have barangay clearance or a copy of birth certificate. I suggest you bring one if you have. Or bring other valid ID and/or supporting documents you have.
Steps in opening Passbook savings account in Metrobank
- Go to the nearest or your preferred Metrobank branch and advise the teller that you want to open a passbook savings account.
- Fill up the form for application. Make sure everything you write is accurate. Make sure you double check.
- Submit the completed application form together with the Php10,000 initial deposit needed. On some Metrobank branches, they are giving option to have a free ATM card together with your Passbook. Meaning, one account with 1 Passbook and 1 ATM card. Really nice! Right? May sure you check with them.
- The bank officer will check everything and encode your information on their system. You just need to wait a couple of minutes and you’ll have your Metrobank passbook. And you’re done!
*The ATM card will be release after 5 days if you also choose to have it together with you Passbook.

Opening a new ATM account in Metrobank is such a hassle. My sister presented 2 government-issued IDs but they insisted that one of the IDs should bear her address. She brought her PRC ID and passport and both do not come with addresses. She also had supporting documents: receipts of the house rental (we are renting but no contract of lease/rent) and billing statements (though under the name of the property owner). They insisted that my sister also present a baranggay clearance as proof that she’s a resident in the area. What I don’t understand is why are they so strict with the address? It’s not like my sister’s applying for a credit card/line connection in which the address is a must to be able to trace the person in case of non-payments of services rendered? Plus, bank clients can transact in any branch anyway and don’t necessarily have to do transactions in that one branch where he/she opened an account….

I have already submitted my application form there since March 2015 for updating my signature since every year signature should be updated. So, when i made a withdrawal from my account in other branch at Legaspi street near greenbelt (here in makati) they charge me ₱50.00 as they said i have to update my signature. But i have already updated my signature in Pasong Tamo south branch. So, it is not my fault. They wasted my time and effort to fill out the form for signature…

Yesterday, I applied for a Debit/ATM card. I brought with me 2 government valid ID’s (Passport and PRC ID), billing address (Note: If you are just renting an apartment or the house you’re living in you need to get a Certificate of Tenancy from the landlord which happens in my case) and 2,000 pesos initial deposit. I have with me my NSO birth certificate but they didn’t ask for it. In addition to that 2 pcs of 2×2 pictures cause I read it here as well but no need. They had me signed an application form and cards to input my signature. After, 30-35 minutes, they asked me to sign in their logbook. And, they handed me my new and fresh Debit/ATM card. That was beyond amazing. Finally, I was given my ATM Pin. That easy. Metrobank Marulas Valenzuela Branch.

Maibabalik pa ba ng Metrobank ang pera ko na more than P11,000 + kasi ging deactivate Nila account ko kasi more than 2 years na akong walang transaction sa account ko dahil naka focus Ako sa isa Kung account at dito Ako nakatira sa Australia for more than 3 years na. Meron akong 3 account sa metrobank, 2 passbook saving account including yong ging deactivate Nila at isang ATM Card. Isa akong loyal sa metrobank Pero ngayon parang nawawala na tiwala ko kasi ging deactivate Nila account ko without any conformation na kahit nag message nalang sa account ko kasi gamit ko ngayon internet banking. Isa rin Ako sa stock shares Nila na may binabayaran monthly na 5k automatic nag deduct sa isa Kung saving na may malaking halaga. Sa tingin mo po ba maibabalik pa pera ko.
