The steps and requirements below were based on our own experience when we open our own BDO savings account. Alright, here are the things you need to know.
In every street and of course every SM malls, you can easily find BDO ATM machines. If you’re planning to open a savings account in BDO, an ATM or probably a passbook account, we’re sharing the simple steps for you.
BDO savings account requirements
- 2 valid IDs and photocopy of them
- Billing statements (to verify your billing address)
- 2 copies of a 1×1 photo
*New requirement:
- TIN number (in earlier part of 2016, almost all establishments doing financial transactions ask to require TIN numbers from their clients/customers)
*Billing statements don’t need to be in your name, as long as it is the same address with the address that you’re going to use
Step-by-step guide to opening savings account in BDO
1. Go to the nearest BDO branch in your area. SM malls have BDO bank branches inside so you may want to take advantage of its convenience. And because it is convenient, sometimes it is full-packed and overcrowded.
Probably the best way is to go the nearest BDO branch in your area.
*BDO banks in SM open from 9AM up to 7PM and most of them are open on Saturdays.
2. Advise the officer in charge that you want to open a savings account. Fill out the application form. Make sure you double check all the information before you submit. You will also provide three (3) identical signature specimens.
3. Provide the initial deposit requirement.
Php2,000 – for BDO ATM savings account
Php5,000 – for BDO Passbook savings account
4. Wait at least a day or 2 to have your account activated. You may claim you ATM or Passbook kit after 5-7 banking days. You may also ask the teller.
5. They may also ask you or you can ask them to enroll your account in their online and phone banking feature. It has many advantages and very convenient if activated online.
That’s it! You now have the information on how you can open your BDO savings account. Once you have it, you can enroll your account in BDO online banking.

Update:
BDO got a new policy to refer the applicant to the nearest branch in their area. Since we are just new in our place and our ID is in a different address, they require us to submit a barangay clearance in where we live and a copy of our bill before they can process our application for a new savings account in BDO.
So my tip when you want to open a savings account in BDO, go to the nearest area in your place where you got identification for a no-hassle application.

Hello you can use any billing statement as long as its the same with your current address. For deposits, it will not ask for your address just the acct number.

Do u know the maximum withdrawal per day if ur account is an atm based only? Ive read different amounts i dont know if its 10k or 50k per day, what i do know is that u can only withdraw up to 5x a day

As far as I know, it will not be close but if you’re below maintaining balance there will be a deduction every month as long as there is fund in your account. Your account will be close if there’s no funds on it.

I just opened a peso savings passbook account. I had to provide my ARC card, passport, copy of my Business Articles of Organization and State Certificate (because I am self employed),Proof of current address (cable bill, lease), and the 10K PHP minimum deposit.

I’m not sure about TIN ID ‘coz on some experience it is not considered as valid ID of some banks. I only used my TIN ID as a supporting ID. 🙂

Just like opening an account with requirements you will just add the proof of remittance you have – old receipt / recent will do.

You can use that to verify your permanent address. To open an account, you need to have an ID with your current address too as well as a proof of billing. 🙂

As for my experience. I just open my bdo atm account on November 2015. They ask for 2 valid id and what i gave them is sss and philhealth id even though phil health id dont have address on it they accept it. For the picture no need to bring they will take your picture at their computer. And they dont ask for my billing address as well. They will also interview you why do you need to open an account and other stuffs. I also put our landline number there and they call at our house to confirm the information that they got from me on the interview.

i inquire at bpi visayas ave planning to open a savings acct initial deposit of course is 10k but they turn me down just because my company id isnt digitized/ i have proof of billing picture/philhealth id/nbi/baranagy id/voters id and company id/ thats all i have i dont have free time to get other id as of this moment and im very dissapointed teller cant even provide good customer services..
anyway i tried to a diff bank and they’ve accepted my id as to them even if it isn’t digitized it still an id. and i have supporting id’s and i can always pass another government id some other time..

Mga Feb 2016 nagtry akong mag open ng bank account sa BDO Blumentritt. Dahil umuupa ako humiram ako ng electric bill sa landlord ko, kaso hindi nila tinanggap.
