If you haven’t read the first four parts, you can check them here:
Reminders on how to start a blog and make money
To continue, I will share the ideas on how you can start monetizing and earning money from your blog but before we dive into that, let’s take a look at some fundamentals first.
I would like to remind everyone that earnings shouldn’t be your initial focus especially when you’re just starting out. Focus on providing valuable content that people will love and information that will help people solve their problems are the great way to make your blog famous and make money in the future.
Let other people know your blog by sharing your awesome article in social media and other platforms. You can also collaborate with other bloggers to exchange guest posts from your blog and theirs to attract more readers and followers. In short, it takes a process. It takes time. It can take a long time depending on the topic and your effort to start making money from your blog.
When you create helpful and informative articles or content, people will start to remember and visiting your blog regularly. This way your building community of readers/fans and helping them out too (by providing valuable content). By having valuable content on your blog, you’ll have more readers and by having more readers it will be easy for you to make money. Always remember that value first before money.
To give you an idea how you can make money on blogging, here’s the 6 major ways to make money on your blog given that you have a lot of readers and followers. This will be a snapshot for now as I will share more detailed explanation and the sample of each in the future.
1. Selling your own product
By having a blog, you can start selling your own product and make new customers. Lots of small businesses right now are using blog to help them grow their business. By having a blog, you can reach a “virtually unlimited” number of customers.
You can sell physical products or create information products like ebooks, video courses, software and many others. Your blog will serve as your platform in reaching and servicing your customers.
You can also automate some if not all of the process providing you more free time to do other things you love.
BUT, as mentioned, you have to provide valuable content or awesome products to stand out.
2. Selling your services
Almost the same with selling a product but in this case you’re selling yourself or your time + your skills. You are showing and convincing people or your readers that you can provide value or help them solve their problems.
An example of services is writing, creating or setting up a blog, paid webinars, consulting and coaching and much more. You can sell your services through your blog and make money.
3. Space Advertising
If you have a lot of readers and followers on your blog, you can apply for any context advertising company and platform out there. This way, once people visit your blog and clicked on display ads on it, you’ll earn money.
You can put ads on empty spaces and “key locations” on your blog to earn more. Google Adsense and Infolinks are one of the famous advertising company to many bloggers. Chitika, Media.net and much more are also the famous advertising company. You can check them out. I’m using Adsense and infolinks on this blog too. 🙂
4. Direct advertising
On this one, since your got more readers and followers (because you have awesome content) you can attract local or even international firm or companies that may want to advertise on your blog. This usually happens if your blog is somewhat related to their product or company. They will just put a banner or a logo to your blog to gain exposure from your readers and they’ll pay you for that.
You can also email or contact companies and institutions related to your blog and offer them to be your advertisers. But as mentioned, you have to have more visitors before that happens.
5. Affiliates
Affiliate marketing can help you earn money from your blog by selling a product of other people. You just need to put a link or an image linked to other people’s products or and you’ll earn a commission once they purchase or do something stated on the program.
The good thing about being an affiliate is you don’t need to create products and handle customer service. Amazon and Clickbank are one of the famous affiliates out there. You can also check how to make money with Lazada Philippines.
6. Selling your blog
Last but not the least, once you setup your blog it’s running and it has valuable articles on it, you have the option to sell your blog. Yap, you heard it right. Not just the domain but the whole site itself. There are a lot of bloggers who set up their blog and then sell it for profit. You can do that too.
Ok, that would be for now. I just gave you a snapshot of some of the major ways on how you can earn money from your blogs. You can also check earnwp and learn some online and blogging techniques that could help you earn more money online.
Blogging is a journey and it really takes a time to earn a decent amount of money. That’s why at the beginning, it is very important that you chose a topic that you can stick through thick and thin so you won’t give up no matter what. If you love blogging, good for you. If not, just continue and someday you’ll realize that’s the one thing that you can be proud of.
To our blogging success, cheers!

Hi Billy,
I just read your article about blogging (Part 1 to 4) and it’s really helpful for people who love to write and share their really good ideas in the web. Then use it, secondarily, either for profit (sell or advertise) or merely just for the sake of publishing it online.
I have one question though – are all the ideas (content) that I’m planning to blog in the future be secured, such as the domain? Is it possible for my domain or my content, after blogging bright ideas for lets say 2 years, be stolen?
Hope you could share you insight on this matter. Thank you.
Billy says
Hi Ireneo, thanks for visiting the blog. All content and information you put up to the internet can be stolen. It a matter of why they will stole your content? A. It’s very useful, B. You’re good at it C. You’re famous D. Any other reasons a “hacker” or other fraud people may think. There are some ways you can put up some security features and protect your blog and your content. You also need to make sure you back up them regularly. I hope it helps. THanks!
