This is the continuation of my how to start a blog and make money on the side article series. If you haven’t read them yet, check the Part I here and Part II here. As we continue, today I’ll be sharing how you can create a blog in blogger.com. Blogger.com is a free blogging platform owned by Google. If you have a google account, you can create a blog in blogger in a minute. Let’s get start.
How to create a blog in blogger
To create a blog in blogger, visit the blogger.com homepage and login using your google account. Here’s the address: www.blogger.com. If you don’t have a google account yet, kindly signup and create one.
Once you’re logged in on the blogger home page, on the left upper corner you can see the button or option to create a new blog.

It will now display the option to setup the title of your blog and the url or domain. As mentioned on the part I of this series, you’re domain name will have an extension of .blogspot.com when using blogger. On the sample below, you can see that my sample blog domain ends in .blogspot.com.
Please note that the title of the blog doesn’t required to be the same as the url or domain. I just used it for better illustration purposes. It is advisable that your title should be related to your topic.
Once you created the title, you need to check if that title can be use as url or domain or your blog too. It will automatically tell you if that url or domain is available in blogger or not. I added the dash (-) because title I have was already taken as url
Once you’re done, select a theme (feel and look or design of a blog) and then click create. That’s it! You now have a blog in blogger.
Since it’s a newly created blog, there is nothing there. You can now write articles or create videos or other type of content about your blog. It should look something like the image below.
How to create a new post in blogger
After your blog was created, it will redirect you to the blogger main dashboard. Just click the “New Post” at the upper right hand corner of the dashboard menu and start create and writing your content.
After creating or writing your content, you can now hit “Publish” at the upper right hand corner menu on the screen to post your article on your blog. Make sure you double check and finalized your content before publishing. Publishing your article will make it public and viewable in the internet.
That’s it! If you check you’re blog after hitting “Publish”, you can see that article is already posted.
You now have a running blog in blogger. All you have to do is to continue creating article or content that people will love. As mentioned in part I, you should have a topic in mind before starting. You can now start your blogging journey using blogger.com.
You can create a social media page to gain more publicity for your blog. You can set up an email subscription to let people subscribe to your blog and many others.

On the future articles, I will share how you can monetize and make money on your blog in blogger. For now, I suggest creating articles and content that will help and provide value to other people.
