It’s another inspirational Monday today. Let start the week with full of inspiration and positivity. On this short article, let me share you the tale of two entrepreneurs. Here you go.
The tale of two entrepreneurs
John and Joe both sat next to each other at work.
They had graduated 10 years ago from the same private college, and set a promise to ‘conquer the world together.’
After realizing that conquering the world may have to wait till they pay down their debt, they both took the first job that was offered to them, in matching cubicles 5 feet from each other.
Their 1 year plan turned into 10.
One day, John turned to Joe and asked;
‘What happened to us?‘
Joe paused minesweeper and sighed.
‘Preaching to the choir John…‘
‘Joe, let’s finally do this, let’s break free and finally take that risk we’ve been talking about all these years…‘
Joe sighed again, turned back to minesweeper, and started clicking. He knew sometimes John would have these rants, then cool down and settle back into the ‘routine‘.
This time, things turned out differently. John’s rant turned into a resignation, which turned into a move in the city, where he found a low rent bungalow and decent wi-fi.
Joe blinked and 5 years passed. He was still in the same cubicle playing minesweeper version 39.2.
John on the other hand had been hard at work.
It had been a tough road for a couple years.
John bootstrapped it, and had to deal with a couple pretty disappointing failures…
But John followed his dream, found an idea where he could combine his passions and skills, and build his “dream business“.
He started creating plans around his idea and started a blog, podcast, videos and social media. He’s building an online business.
He slowly and steadily built an audience.
He asked that audience, what are you struggling with?
They answered with their pain points, obstacles, challenges. John created the solution for these challenges in the form of an online course.
Now, John woke up and worked on the things he loved, and people he loved working with.
It wasn’t always perfect, but it was HIS. And he’s sure that things are getting better and his getting closer and closer to this dream of conquering the world.
Wonder what happened to Joe?
He’s still in that cubicle playing minesweeper. The dream of conquering the world and starting a business still floats in his head. In short, he got stuck.
They have their dreams.
They were in the same situation.
But John took action that made the difference.
Many of us want to do something in our life but always having the fear of doing it. We doubt ourselves and so we settle for less.
Those fears and doubts are like an elephant rope holding us back from breaking free and becoming the best of ourselves. That mindset must be change.
Like John in the story above, we must have the courage to face our doubts and fears. And we can only do that by taking action.
Again, you must take action.
I hope this has inspire you. Have a great week ahead. Cheers!
